Position of PSCJ internationally

The OIR of PSCJ is working on establishing an international reputation for PSCJ. The main driving element is to be recognized as an institution with a strong global perspective and a center of international excellence in a number of areas in which PSCJ are engaged with other countries. These areas include tourism training and development, event management training and development, hospitality training and development as well as business training and development. Further PSCJ seeks to be sought out by international development agencies and international higher education institutions for expert advice and consultation on matters related to the above areas. Parallel to these research and technical assistance programmes are graduate degree programmes tailored to the needs of future leaders. The OIR will seek ways to increase student and faculty opportunities to gain international perspectives through continuing to internationalize the curricula, and to leverage potential of international linkages through strategic alliances that facilitate faculty research on global tourism, events, and hospitality and business issues.

PSCJ internationalization activities are concentrated in four principal areas. These areas are student study abroad programmes, international scholarly programmes and exchanges, projects for curricular transformation and strategic international initiatives. The first two areas provide opportunities for PSCJ students and faculty to live and study in other parts of the world. Curricular transformation occurs both in individual courses and around particular programmes of interest. Strategic international initiatives concentrates on a limited number of College programmes aimed at enhancing the College global profile and bringing excellence and distinctiveness to the College.
