Applications from candidates who satisfy PSCJ minimum admission requirements are considered for admission. The minimum admission requirements are based on a number of academic qualifications that will ensure students success during their course of study. In addition to these qualifications, admission to PSCJ takes into consideration the capacity of each department. Students are admitted to PSCJ on a competitive basis and for the semester of their application.

The Dean determines, according to the college council’s suggestion, the numbers of the students can be accepted at the beginning for each academic year.

  • Undergraduate Application Categories.
  • Standard admission to an undergraduate degree program at PSCJ may be granted in one of the categories listed below by meeting the following requirements:

    • First year admission :
    • All applicants who have never attended a College or who have not studied at any other College/University and who are applying to PSCJ as either Foundation Program or Undergraduate applicants are classified as First Year applicants. First Year applicants may apply for either Fall or Spring admission and are required to submit the following:

      • Complete Admissions Application .
      • Final and official high school transcript with a Good average or higher or its equivalent.
      • He/she must be physically fit and healthy
      • Applicants from outside KSA should provide a copy of their passport and a valid Iqama
      • Certificate of good conduct.
      • Four Passport sized photographs
      • If the student is an employee at the government or any private establishment, he/she should have permission from his workplace .

      First Year undergraduate applicants must satisfy all PSCJ undergraduate admission requirements for the semester of intended admission and must submit all appropriate application materials and supporting documents to the Registrar’s Office by the admission deadline All first year admitted students must successfully complete the English preparatory year (5 levels), according to its regulations, in two semesters before starting the College academic courses. Based on their performance in the preparatory year, and in accordance with the implementation rules, students will be able to select the major of their choice.

    • Transfer Admission .
    • All applicants who are currently or who have previously studied at another College/University are considered as transfer applicants and may apply for transfer admission to PSCJ. Transfer applicants may apply for either Fall or Spring admission. In addition to completing an admission application, transfer applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for admission to PSCJ as a transfer student:

      • Complete admission and credit transfer applications .
      • Earned a General Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with a good average or above.
      • The content of the transferred courses must match 80% of the course content of their counterparts at PSCJ.Only courses with a grade of (C) or above are transferable and completed at other colleges or universities accredited in KSA.
      • Transfer applicants must submit an official transcript from each institution previously attended as well as a Catalog course description or course syllabus for all courses for which transfer credit is sought.
      • Meet PSCJ English and Computer competency requirements.
      • He/she must be physically fit and healthy.
      • Applicants from outside KSA should provide a copy of their passport and a valid Iqama
      • Four Passport sized photographs.
      • Grades and quality points earned in courses accepted for transfer will not be included in the grade point average to be maintained at PSCJ, but the credits will count toward the total number required for graduation.

        Undergraduate transfer applicants must satisfy all PSCJ undergraduate transfer admission requirements for the semester of intended admission and must submit all appropriate application materials and supporting documents to the Registrar’s office by the admission deadline.A maximum of 50% of required credit hours may be considered for transfer credit evaluation. The maximum age of transfer credit hour eligibility is five years. Individual departments determine the exact number of credit hours that may be transferred and applied towards their specific degree programs.

    • Visiting (Guest) Students .
    • Students who wish to take selected courses for credit in the Fall, Spring and/ or Summer but do not wish to pursue a degree at PSCJ may be considered for admission in this category. An application fee is not required. Visiting students may register in a maximum of 48 credit hours or 4 semesters of course work at PSCJ, whichever comes first. Visiting students may be enrolled as either full-time or part-time students. In addition to completing an admission application, visiting applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for admission to PSCJ as a visiting student:

      • All required original documentation, including an official transcript from their home institution, submitted to the Registrar’s office by the admission deadline.
      • Studying at a College/University accredited by an international accrediting association or by the Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent in that country.
      • Visiting students are required to satisfy PSCJ Undergraduate English and Computer competency requirements.
      • He/she must be physically fit and healthy
      • Applicants from outside KSA should provide a copy of their passport and a valid Iqama
      • Four Passport sized photographs.
      • Undergraduate visiting applicants must satisfy all PSCJ undergraduate admission requirements and must fill an application with all supporting documents to the Registrar’s office by the admission deadline. Visiting students are held to the same academic and Student Code of Conduct standards as all other PSCJ students. All PSCJ coursework taken by a visiting student remains on the academic record.

        Visiting students may apply for transfer admission to PSCJ. To be considered for transfer admission to PSCJ, applicants must satisfy the transfer admission requirements mentioned above.

    • Agreements with Other Institutions .
    • PSCJ has agreements with a number of educational institutions to assist with transition to PSCJ. Course equivalencies, transfer guides, and articulation agreements are available for Prince Sultan college Abha and Millennium Institute of Technology and Management.

  • Admission Dates and Deadlines :
  • Admission into the incoming class is limited, and applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their admissions application and all required documentation as early as possible. Admission decisions are generally announced two weeks before each semester. Students need to report to the Registrar’s office to receive their admission decision.

  • Competency Requirements (please note that I added computer competency) :
  • All students must possess minimum basic skills in order to be accepted in academic programs. In order to be considered for undergraduate admission to PSCJ, all applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English, and Computer.

    Applicants who fail to satisfy the minimum English, and Computer competencies will be considered for admission to a Foundation Program. Students in the Foundation Program will be given the opportunity to acquire these skills and satisfy the required minimum competencies. The maximum period of enrolment in the enrolling in the Foundation Program is four semesters

  • The Foundation Program :
  • PSCJ has developed an academic entry program for the majority of newly enrolled students. This entry program is called the Foundation Program. The main purpose of this Foundation Program is to improve students’ English language proficiency and enhance their computer skills to the level needed to be successful at the College.

    For a student to advance beyond the Foundation Program, he/she must achieve a specific level of mastery in each of these areas.The courses that are taken by the student in the Foundation Program are neither for credit nor do they count in the calculation of the student’s overall grade point average (GPA).

    In order to register for appropriate courses in the Foundation Program, all students must first take placement exam which is used to place students in the appropriate levels (English and Computer).

  • Student Classification :
  • Students are classified according to the following categories:

    • Regular Degree-Seeking Students :
    • Regular students are those admitted to an academic program at PSCJ that leads to a degree.

      • 1.Regular Full-Time Students :
      • Regular full-time students are those who are expected to maintain a minimum load of 12 credit hours per semester.

      • 2.Regular Part-Time Students
      • Regular part-time students are those who are expected to maintain a maximum load of 11 credit hours per semester. Additionally, all regular part-time students must pay the required tuition fees prescribed by PSCJ.

        • Regular Part-time status may be granted to a student with special community and family circumstances following a review of his academic profile.
        • Part-time status can be changed to full-time status upon the student’s request and upon the recommendation of his academic advisor.
    • Visiting (Guest) Students :
    • Visiting are not classified as regular degree seeking as their admission status does not allow them to earn a degree from PSCJ but they can apply for transfer admission. Visiting students may register in a maximum load of 18 credit hours per semester. Visiting students are held to the same academic and Student standards as all other students at PSCJ. All PSCJ coursework is applied to the student’s academic record and remains on the transcript.

  • Selecting a Major :
  • Students must declare their major they wish to pursue when applying for admission to PSCJ. Some department admit their students initially to a general program prior to admitting them to a specific program of study. All students, however, must declare their selected major before completing 75 credit hours of full-time enrollment.

  • Academic Advising :
  • Head of departments are assigned as academic advisors from the program in which the student is enrolled. Academic advisor assist students in planning their course of study and provide guidance and suggestions on how to meet the graduation requirements. These suggestions will be updated at the end of each semester according to the student’s progress. Before registering for any semester, the student should meet with his/her advisor; continuous consultation of the advisor is highly encouraged throughout the year to achieve degree requirements

  • Tuition Fees Refund Policy :
  • You will be held an academic and financial liability for all courses that appear on your schedule which appear on your account once you login. It is your responsibility to officially withdraw from any course which you are not attending, including but not limited to: (a) classes which have been discontinued at the College’s option; (b) situations in which you never attended any classes in any course. All withdrawals must be requested and processed by the end of the add and drop period (2nd week) to be eligible for refund. There is no refund for courses withdrawn after this date. Informing your academic department or your lecturer does not constitute withdrawal from the course. All withdrawals must be processed through the Registrar’s office.

    In the event of a withdrawal from a semester within the add and drop period, 100% of any tuition paid for that semester will be first applied to any outstanding debt .Any remaining credit will be available for refund within six to eight weeks from the date of revocation. Students must request refund from the finance Office.
