PSCJ AND HILTON WORLDWIDE GROUP LEARNERSHIP
The Prince Sultan College for Tourism and Business (PSCJ) and Hilton Worldwide Group signed an
important partnership in the form of a learnership, on 1 December 2010, Dubai. The Tourism and
Hospitality Learnership is an important process to ensure vocational and occupationally directed
training for Saudi employees of the Hilton Worldwide group, Saudi Arabia. The learnership is geared
towards the vocational and occupational training programmes offered under the PSCJ Tourism and
Hospitality Training Centre. The PSCJ and Hilton Worldwide learnership will be driven in the spirit
of Saudisation as a tripartite agreement to address skills development in the tourism and hospitality
industry for Saudi nationals. The Tourism and Hospitality Learnership is developed for the Hilton
Worldwide to enter into a learnership agreement with the prospective learnership candidate (Saudi
male and female candidate) and the learning provider, PSCJ. PSCJ will assist Hilton Worldwide
group in identifying 3000 suitable candidates for the programme.
The PSCJ and Hilton Worldwide learnership places the emphasis on the outcomes of relevant
programmes such as front office services; food and beverage services; professional cookery;
housekeeping/accommodation services; sales and marketing; hotel accounts and bookkeeping;
human resources and events coordination, conducted by the PSCJ Tourism and Hospitality
Training Centre. The success of the learnership, after a period of two years, is whether
at the end of the period of learning the learnership candidate can practically and
competently use the skills that he/she has been taught. The learnership will combine
both theory and practice. The learnership candidate will continuously be assessed
during the learnership. These learnerships in particular aim to meet the skills
required by the Hilton Worldwide for the Saudi Arabian tourism market in line with
the Saudisation agenda as a national priority. PSCJ will provide the relevant accredited
trainers and venues to train 3000 candidates over the 2011 – 2012/13 periods. The proposed
training will take place in block release periods as determined by PSCJ and the Hilton Worldwide.
